Private Alpha Participation Notice

Compass Habits

Thank you for helping test Compass Habits. Before you take part, please read this.

This is pre-release software

Compass Habits is in a private alpha. Features may change, break, or be removed. Your data (habits, practice records, account) may be reset or deleted during the alpha, and we cannot guarantee it will be preserved.

What it is — and isn’t

Compass Habits is a structured lifestyle habit-building app. It is not a medical, therapeutic, diagnostic, or clinical tool. It does not diagnose, treat, or assess any condition, and using it does not create any professional-client relationship. If you need clinical support, please work with a qualified professional.

Your data

We collect only what’s needed to run the app — your account email, habit selections, and practice records. Reflection notes stay only in your own browser and are never sent to our servers. See our Privacy page for details. You can export or delete your account data at any time from Settings.

Emails

We send account-security emails (like password resets). Habit reminder emails are off by default and fully optional.

Support

Questions or problems? Email [email protected]. A real person will read it.

Your role as an alpha tester

As a private alpha participant, you’re one of the first people to use Compass Habits. Your experience — what clicks, what confuses, what breaks — directly shapes the product before it opens to anyone else.

What we ask:

  • Use the app for real. Pick a habit, follow the schedule, and complete your daily practice. The more genuinely you use it, the more useful your feedback becomes.
  • Be patient with rough edges. Things may look unfinished, load slowly, or behave unexpectedly — that’s exactly why we’re testing.
  • Speak up. If something feels wrong, confusing, or broken, tell us. If something works well, tell us that too. No observation is too small.

How you help most: honest, specific feedback. You don’t need to be technical — “I tapped this button and nothing happened” is exactly the kind of thing we need to hear.

Reporting bugs & suggesting improvements

Email [email protected] — a real person reads every message.

For a bug, include as much of this as you can:

  • What you were doing (e.g. “completing my morning practice”)
  • What you expected to happen
  • What actually happened (error message, blank screen, wrong data, etc.)
  • A screenshot or screen recording, if possible
  • Your device and browser (e.g. iPhone 15 / Safari, Windows laptop / Chrome)

For an idea or suggestion, just describe it in your own words — there’s no template. We appreciate anything from “this wording is confusing” to “it would be great if…”

Use a subject line like Bug: or Idea: so we can triage quickly, but don’t worry about formatting — clarity matters more than structure.

Confidentiality

Please don’t publicly share screenshots or details of unreleased features without asking first.
